MELTING BRIE WITH PECANS
Portions : 4 - Preparation : 5 minutes - Cooking time : 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 4 shallots, finely chopped
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) butter
- 60 ml (4 tablespoons) maple syrup
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 30 ml (2 tbsp.) vinegar
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) dried oregano
- 1 large brie cheese
- 250 ml (1 cup) pecans
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 180°C (350°F).
- Trim the top of the brie to remove a thin layer.
- Melt the butter in a hot skillet over medium heat, then add the shallot and sauté for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring regularly.
- Add the maple syrup, garlic, vinegar and oregano and stir. Season with salt and pepper.
- In an ovenproof dish with a rim slightly higher than the brie, place the brie, spread the shallot mixture, cover with pecans and leave in the oven for 20 minutes.
- Serve with bread croutons.
