Ingredients
- 380 g pork meatballs with hamburger steak sauce (vacuum-packed)
- 750 ml (3 cups) mashed potatoes (prepared from cooked potatoes)
- 285 ml (1 1/4 cups) corn kernels, drained (1 can)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 15 ml (1 tbsp.) butter (optional for gratinating)
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Heat the pork meatballs in their sauce in a skillet for about 5 minutes, just enough to warm through. Shred or cut meatballs into small pieces.
- In a casserole dish, spread the shredded pork and sauce in an even layer.
- Add a layer of drained corn on top of the meat.
- Spread mashed potatoes on top to form an even layer.
- If desired, add a few knobs of butter to the mashed potatoes for a light gratin in the oven.
- Place in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is lightly browned and everything is heated through.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
