Melting Brie with Blueberries and Bacon

Brie fondant aux bleuets et bacon

Ingredients

  • 1 whole 450-g Brie
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) fresh blueberries
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) chopped bacon
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) maple syrup
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) chopped pecans or other nuts
  • 1 pinch of herbes de Provence
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet until crispy.
  3. Drain off the excess fat, then add the blueberries, maple syrup, and herbes de Provence.
  4. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes to lightly burst the blueberries and achieve a glossy, luscious texture.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Place the Brie in a small ovenproof dish, then top it with the blueberry and bacon mixture. Sprinkle the walnuts on top.
  7. Bake for about 15 minutes or until the center is nice and melted.
  8. Serve immediately with toasted bread or croutons.
