SUCCULENT HAMBURGER WITH BACON CARAMEL
Portions : 4 - Preparation time : 10 minutes - Cooking time : about 20 minutesIngredients
- 450 g (1 lb) ground beef
 - 500 ml (2 cups) bacon slices, chopped
 - 250 ml (1 cup) shallot, chopped
 - 125 ml (1/2 cup) maple syrup
 - 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Sambal Oelek or other hot sauce
 - 45 ml (3 tbsp.) concentrated beef broth
 - 4 slices Oka cheese
 - 4 brioche burger buns
 - 60 ml (4 tbsp.) mayonnaise
 - 1 apple, thinly sliced
 - Salt and pepper to taste
 
Preparation
- In a saucepan over medium heat, brown the bacon and shallots, stirring constantly, for 6 to 8 minutes, until nicely toasted and colored.
 - Add the maple syrup and hot sauce and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes.
 - Once reduced and syrupy, check seasoning. Set aside.
 - Meanwhile, preheat skillet or barbecue to maximum.
 - Shape ground beef into patties and season with salt and pepper.
 - Grill beef patties in hot pan over high heat or on barbecue grill for 2 minutes on each side, then 6 to 8 minutes over medium heat. Brush each patty with concentrated beef broth, add a slice of cheese and set aside.
 - Toast the burger buns.
 - On each bun, spread mayonnaise, apple slices, beef patties and prepared bacon caramel.
 - Add the toppings of your choice, tomato, lettuce, etc., before placing the top of each bun.
