Iced Watermelon Margarita with Lime and Mint

Margarita glacée au melon d’eau, lime et menthe

Ingredients

  • 1 liter (4 cups) frozen cubed watermelon
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) fresh lime juice
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) fresh mint leaves
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) honey
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 90 ml (6 tablespoons) tequila or white rum (optional)
  • Ice cubes, if needed
  • Lime wedges and mint leaves for serving


Preparation

  1. Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds.
  2. Place the cubes on a baking sheet or in a container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  3. Place the frozen watermelon in a blender with the lime juice, mint, honey, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Add the tequila or rum, if desired. Blend until smooth and icy.
  5. Add a few ice cubes if you prefer a thicker consistency.
  6. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish with mint leaves and lime wedges.
