Ingredients
- 1 beef chuck roast (approx. 2kg)
- 60 ml (4 tablespoons) concentrated beef broth
- 90 ml (6 tbsp) olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 garlic cloves, chopped
- 60 ml (4 tbsp.) horseradish
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) honey
- 60 ml (4 tbsp) Montreal steak spice blend
- 1l (4 cups) dark beer
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat oven, rack in center, to 160°C (325°F).
- In a hot skillet, sear the beef in a little oil for 2 to 3 minutes on each side.
- Place meat in an ovenproof dish, add broth, onion, garlic, horseradish, honey, steak spices and beer, cover and bake for 4 hours.
- Serve with potatoes and greens.
