Servings: 4
Prep time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
For the smoothie
- 3 kiwis, peeled and cut into pieces
- 2 ripe bananas
- 250 ml (1 cup) baby spinach
- 250 ml (1 cup) milk or plant-based milk
- 125 ml (½ cup) plain Greek yogurt
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) maple syrup
- 125 ml (½ cup) ice cubes
For the “bloody” coulis
- 125 ml (½ cup) fresh or frozen raspberries, thawed
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) maple syrup
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) wate
For the monster eyes and garnish
- 1 banana, cut into 8 thick slices
- 8 blueberries
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) melted dark chocolate
- 1 kiwi, cut into thin slices
- 15 ml (1 tablespoon) chia seeds (optional)
Preparation
- In a blender, purée the raspberries, maple syrup, and water until smooth. Strain through a sieve to remove the seeds, if desired. Set aside in the refrigerator.
- Arrange the banana slices on a small plate. Secure a blueberry in the center of each slice with a small drop of melted chocolate. Refrigerate for a few minutes to let the chocolate set.
- In a blender, combine the kiwis, bananas, spinach, milk, Greek yogurt, maple syrup, and ice cubes. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Add a little milk as needed to adjust the consistency.
- Spread some of the raspberry coulis along the inside walls of four clear glasses. Gently pour the green smoothie into the glasses to create a contrast between the green and red.
- Place two “eyes” made of banana and blueberry on top of each smoothie. Use small, food-safe decorative skewers, if needed, to hold them in place.
- Cut the kiwi slices into small monster fangs and place them on the rim of the glasses.
- Add a few drops of raspberry coulis on top and sprinkle lightly with chia seeds, if desired.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the smoothie’s refreshing texture and its monstrous look!
