Strawberry, Basil, and Balsamic Ice Cream Cup

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (450 g) fresh strawberries, quartered
  • ¼ cup (60 ml) maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 12 fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
  • 8 scoops of vanilla ice cream
  • ½ cup (60 g) toasted almonds, chopped
  • Freshly ground black pepper


Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the strawberries, maple syrup, and balsamic vinegar.
  2. Let marinate for 15 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Add the basil and a few turns of the pepper mill. Stir to combine.
  4. Divide the ice cream among 4 bowls.
  5. Top with the strawberries and their marinade.
  6. Add the toasted almonds and serve immediately.
