Ingredients
- 6 croissants
- 500 ml (2 cups) strawberries, chopped
- 250 ml (1 cup) cream cheese
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) sugar
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) vanilla extract
- 5 ml (1 tsp) ground cinnamon
- 1 lemon (zest)
- 4 eggs
- 375 ml (1 1/2 cups) milk
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) melted butter
- 1 pinch of salt
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). In a large bowl, combine the eggs, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, lemon zest, sugar, milk, and salt.
- Cut the croissants into large cubes and add them to the mixture, coating them well.
- Add the strawberries and mix gently.
- Pour the mixture into an oven-safe baking dish and dot the mixture with dollops of cream cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking for 15 minutes to brown the top nicely.
- Serve as is or top with strawberry jam and whipped cream for an even more indulgent treat.
