Tempeh burger

TEMPEH BURGER

Portions : 4 - Preparation : 20 minutes - Cooking time : 15 to 18 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 piece tempeh, cut into 4 slices

Marinade

  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) soy sauce
  • 45 ml (3 tbsp.) yellow mustard
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) maple syrup
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) olive oil
  • Pepper to taste
  • Chili pepper to taste

Topping

  • 60 ml (4 tbsp.) homemade or store-bought mayonnaise
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) Madras curry
  • 4 salad leaves
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 red onion rings
  • 4 burger buns

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, yellow mustard, maple syrup, garlic, olive oil, pepper and hot pepper to taste.
  2. Marinate the tempeh slices in the marinade for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the BBQ to maximum.
  4. On the hot grill, brown the tempeh slices for 1? minutes on each side. Then turn off the heat on one side of the BBQ and place the tempeh slices on that side, with the lid closed, and cook for 15 minutes, indirectly.
  5. Meanwhile, mix the mayonnaise and Madras curry in a bowl.
  6. Heat the burger buns for a few seconds on the BBQ grill.
  7. Spread the mayonnaise-curry mixture over the buns.
  8. Assemble each burger with a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, an onion ring and a slice of tempeh.
