Ingredients
- 450 to 900 g (1 to 2 lbs) ground beef (medium-lean)
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) finely chopped French shallots
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) Tex-Mex seasoning
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) honey
- 4 classic or jalapeño burger buns
- 4 slices Havarti or Cheddar cheese
- 1 ripe avocado, diced
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) chopped fresh cilantro
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil
- 1 sliced tomato
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) mayonnaise
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) lime juice
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) hot sauce, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the shallots, Tex-Mex spices, honey, salt, and pepper, and form 4 patties.
- In another bowl, mix the avocado with the cilantro, a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Grill the patties in a skillet or on the barbecue for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side, depending on desired doneness.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty at the end of cooking to melt it.
- Mix the mayonnaise with the lime juice and hot sauce.
- Lightly toast the buns.
- Spread the sauce on the buns, add the tomatoes, the cheese patty, and then the avocado and cilantro topping.
- Serve immediately with fries or a salad.
