Chicken nuggets

Croquettes de poulet

Servings: 4 (12 to 16 croquettes) – Preparation: 15 minutes – Cooking: 10 to 12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 450g (1 lb) minced chicken
  • 250 ml (1 cup) grated mozzarella
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) Cajun spice mix
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For English-style breading

  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) flour
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 250 ml (1 cup) breadcrumbs
  • A little vegetable oil for pan cooking

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground chicken, mozzarella, Cajun spices, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper until well combined.
  2. Form balls of about 30 ml (2 stable tbsp) each to obtain bite-sized pieces.
  3. Coat each ball in flour, then in beaten eggs, and finally in breadcrumbs to coat them well.
  4. In the Air Fryer or in a hot pan over medium heat, cook the balls in a little oil, turning them regularly, and let them cook until the internal temperature reaches 74°C (165°F).
  5. Serve the croquettes with either sweet and sour sauce or hot sauce, to taste.
  6. The croquettes can be frozen before cooking. They can then be cooked directly from frozen by adding a few minutes to the cooking time.
