Jam Stars

Ingredients (for 7 stars)

  • 1 shortcrust pastry
  • 125 ml of jam of your choice (preferably without chunks)
  • 60 ml icing sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C.
  2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry to a maximum thickness of 5 mm. Cut out 14 stars using a cookie cutter. On 7 of them, make a new indentation in the center using a smaller cookie cutter.
  3. Carefully place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat, then bake.
  4. Bake for about 10 minutes (no more, otherwise the stars will become crumbly when eaten), until they begin to brown slightly around the edges.
  5. Let cool on a wire rack.
  6. Spread the jam over the filled stars. Sprinkle the perforated stars with icing sugar.
  7. Assemble by placing the perforated stars on top of the jam-filled stars.
  8. Present the stars on a pretty plate and enjoy.
