Saint-Jean-Baptiste's Day hot dog

Hot-dog de la Saint-jean

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) smoked meat, chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) strong mustard
  • 4 hot dog brioche buns
  • 60 ml (4 tbsp) blueberry jam
  • 250 ml (1 cup) grated cheddar cheese
  • 4 hot dogs
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Preheat the barbecue or oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a pan, brown the smoked meat, onion and garlic in a drizzle of oil until golden.
  3. Add the strong mustard, mix and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
  4. Spread the inside of each brioche bun with blueberry jam, then top with the grated cheddar cheese.
  5. Place the open buns on a baking sheet or directly on the barbecue grill to melt the cheese, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Grill the hot dogs.
  7. Top each bun with a sausage, then spread the smoked meat mixture on top.
  8. Serve immediately.
