Mini Apple Air Fryer Donuts

Mini beignes aux pommes à l’air fryer

Servings: 12 mini donuts
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 8 minutes

Ingredients

  • 250 ml (1 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) baking powder
  • 2.5 ml (½ teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 80 ml (⅓ cup) milk
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) melted butter
  • 2.5 ml (½ teaspoon) vanilla extract
  • 125 ml (½ cup) apple, peeled and finely grated
  • A little cooking spray

For the Topping

  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) melted butter
  • 60 ml (¼ cup) sugar
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) ground cinnamon

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and brown sugar.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Add the grated apple and mix.
  3. Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix just enough to form a smooth, slightly sticky dough, being careful not to overwork it.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, gently roll out the dough to about 1.5 cm (½ in.) thick. Using a small round cookie cutter, cut out the mini donuts, then remove the center with a smaller cookie cutter.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 180 °C (350 °F). Lightly spray the basket with oil and place the mini donuts in a single layer, leaving a little space between each one.
  6. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are puffed and lightly golden. Bake in several batches if necessary.
Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
As soon as you take them out of the air fryer, lightly brush the donuts with melted butter, then roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
    Serve warm.
