This recipe is a great way to use up leftover bread. It's more delicious with fruit than traditional French toast. It'll be even more delicious if you use brioche instead of bread!
Ingredients (for 4 people)
- 6 slices of stale brioche
- 1 cup of milk
- 2 eggs
- 40 g caster sugar
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 1 cup frozen berries
- 20 g of soft butter
- 15 ml icing sugar
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F / 180°C.
- Cut the brioche slices diagonally to create triangles.
- In a bowl, using a whisk, mix the caster sugar and vanilla sugar with the eggs, then add the milk.
- Butter a baking dish, arrange the brioche slices and add the red fruits.
- Pour the milk-egg-sugar mixture over the preparation.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool. Sprinkle with icing sugar before serving.
