Cook time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 bagels, cut in half
  • 180 g (¾ cup) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large crisp apple, thinly sliced
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) honey
  • 30 ml (2 tablespoons) pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) lemon juice
  • 1 ml (¼ teaspoon) ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C (400 °F). Place the bacon slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, toss the apple slices with the lemon juice and cinnamon.
  3. Lightly toast the bagels in a toaster or in the oven until golden brown but still soft in the center.
  4. Generously spread cream cheese on each bagel half.
  5. Arrange the apple slices on top of the cream cheese, then top with crispy bacon.
  6. Drizzle with a little honey, sprinkle with pecans, and finish with a pinch of salt. Serve immediately, while the bagel is still slightly warm.
