Ingredients
- 1 ball of pizza dough
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil
- 8 to 12 thin slices of mortadella
- 250 ml (1 cup) strawberries, sliced
- 250 ml (1 cup) tomatoes, sliced
- ½ red onion, finely sliced
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) red wine vinegar
- 5 ml (1 tsp) garlic, finely chopped
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil
- 30 ml (2 tbsp) fresh basil
- 200 ml (about 1 cup) burrata or fresh mozzarella
- 15 ml (1 tbsp) spiced honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to the highest temperature with the rack in the center.
- On a work surface, roll out the ball of pizza dough with a rolling pin.
- Brush half of the dough with olive oil, then fold the dough over itself to form a sandwich.
- Place the dough on a baking sheet and bake in the oven until golden brown and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, thread the mortadella slices onto two skewers.
- In a hot skillet, pan-fry the mortadella slices in a little oil for about 1 to 2 minutes on each side, until they are slightly crispy.
- In a bowl, mix the strawberries, tomatoes, onion, vinegar, garlic, oil, basil, pepper, and salt.
- Slice open the warm bread, top with burrata or mozzarella, add the strawberry and tomato salad, place the grilled mortadella on top (removing the skewers), and finish with a drizzle of spiced honey.
